A Few of My Favorite Things
One of the perks of relationships is not having to figure it all out on your own. My tribes are invaluable. I absolutely love when a friend gives up the goods and shares some of her secrets. Beauty, cleaning hacks, tried and true recipes, weight loss, parenting tips whatever it may be, just share the wealth! With that in mind here are a few of my current favs. This list could potentially be never-ending. I narrowed it down to a few of my current day to days. As fate would have it, as soon as I completed this list a few other gems came to mind. I hope to share some other favs in the near future.
Starting from the top right with a must-have item. Urban Decay has been a beloved and trusted brand to me for years. The de-slick makeup setting spray is pretty much magical. On the days where I run out the house without it, I am stuck reapplying my makeup before I know it. This spray keeps my face beat and the shine nonexistent. This one tool has elevated my makeup game by volumes. A little sparkle makes the world brighter. Bobbi Brown is a tried and true name in the cosmetic world. My next fav keeps me sparkling. Bobbi Brown's Cement 20 Sparkle Eye Shadow is the perfect hint of effortless beauty. The perfect amount of sparkle that brings out your features, not the type that says high school cheerleading competition (you know like sparkle overload). Next is a recent game changer for the beauty industry is Fenty Beauty. There is a match for every shade of skin. Ladies everywhere celebrate! It is worth all the hype ladies. My melanin is popping with this match stix magic. I use match stix for full face coverage. I am impressed with the results. I look natural and seamless. A girl needs a good highlighter and Killawatt by Fenty Beauty is my current obsession. A girls gotta glow and this color combo keeps me glowing. I use it on my cheeks, sometimes my eyes or various spots that I want to highlight and shine.
Moving on to the middle. There is a big beautiful tub of natures goodness. If you have not heard... please allow me to introduce you to the magic of shea butter. This is an occasion where the simpler the better. I go to my local beauty supply store and get the basic version. Shea butter hydrates, moisturizes, minimizes scars, reduces the appearance of stretch marks and wrinkles. It can be used on your face, hair, and body. It is a game changer and a constant in my home. On the lower right corner beneath the magical shea butter is a handy tube of moisture I carry on the go. Shea Moisture is a trusted brand for quality natural ingredients that produce lovely results. I trust the ingredients are reliable. Most women carry a little body cream in their bags. This little bottle is my current favorite. One could argue true beauty ignites all of the senses. The scent of a lady is significant. One brush of her smell is a window into her soul. Is she fun, flirty, classy, spicy or strong? Maybe not every detail of her entire being but perhaps a glimpse of who she is and how she feels on that particular day. My current scent of choice is Marc Jacobs Decadence. The name holds true ladies! It truly is decedent. Smells luxurious yet light, feminine and fun. The smell is hypnotizing. I am tempted to spray myself from head to toe, but I know better. Scents are best in moderation. To the left is a bottle that leaves me golden, literally. Bath and Body Works glow body oil is the perfect hint of gold and shine. The scent is also lovely. Hints of blackberry, white nectarine, and champagne bubbles. It will leave you radiant.
I love color. A bright palette keeps me happy. Bring on the brights, lights, neon and deep tones. I embrace them all. I used to keep a constant appointment for my nails to get my gel finish. Life is currently a little too hectic. Sally Hansen makes pretty nails convenient. This is my current hack for salon quality in the comfort of my home. Towards the tops are my kissable lip secrets. I recently embraced matt colors. Revlon and NYX have vibrant colors at reasonable prices. Win-win! I love the NYX lip liners as well. Lip color pops on a clean smooth moisturized surface. I use various lip scrubs. I enjoy the one pictured above from e.l.f because of the convenient shape. The difference in this lip scrub and all of my others is that it is shaped like a lipstick. I apply it to my lips effortlessly and wash it off and my lips are soft and ready for color. Last but certainly not least is the lip kit by MAYBELLINE, python. the color is venomous and with this color honey, you will be straight poison.
I hope you enjoy my selection. Please comment below with some of your own favorites.
