Glow and Grow
Recently I took my kids through the creation story. Genesis, the story of God creating the world. I noticed with everything created God stood back and marveled at his creation. As a self-proclaimed lover of nature. Full disclosure here, A lover like I want to smell the roses. Not like sleep outdoors kinda lover. More of the glamping, not the camping kinda girl. I am often in the vastness of nature utterly speechless by the beauty of the world. The sun gives me life. I enjoy to sit in the sun and feel the delight of its warm rays. I have equal room in my heart for the night's sky. My admiration for one does not compete with the other. There is a whimsical beauty to the twinkle of the stars and the sparkle of moonlight under the night's sky. There is a knowing of awe and wonder. The array of the variety of flowers baffles my mind. The range of colors and shapes in a botanical garden fills me with overwhelming delight. My joy from the flowers does not compete with my love of the sun, none of this overshadows my marvel of the moonlight. All beautiful and powerful in their own right. There is room for them all. All here to shine unapologetically. I cant fight the notion, the same is true for human beings.
God as a masterful creator chose various shapes and hues to form people. The diversity in humans is amazing. The variations in eyes. The shapes of our bodies. Combine the physical uniqueness with the pizazz of individual personality and my mind is blown. I delight in people being authentically and unapologetically who they were created to be. I come from a big boisterous family. I would not have it any other way. My mom does not tell a story with her mouth alone. No! No! Her entire body is engaged and she acts the story out, in its entirety. The apple didn't fall far from the tree. I am convinced we are here to shine. This is no dress rehearsal. We do not do others a favor by playing small. Be! Be you, unapologetically. Shine in who you were born to be, there is only one you. Much like an array of various flowers the beauty of the delicate baby's breath is not overshadowed by the soothing scent of the lavender. Glow and grow. Be gracious, be generous, be grateful and be your best.
